C64GS
In 1990 the C64 was re-released in the form of a game console, aptly named the C64 Games System (or C64GS).

By moving the motherboard to a vertical position, this allowed the cartridges to be inserted in the top. Other changes were a modified ROM replacing the BASIC interpreter and a boot screen notifying the player to insert cartridge. The C64GS proved another blow for the failing Commodore and was never released outside Europe.
