Sega Nomad
A portable handheld games console sold in North America to play Sega Mega Drive/Genesis game cartridges.

With it's battery compartment and 3.25 inch colour LCD screen this was the way foreward for the portable games console.Being able to play Sega Mega Drive and Genesis games whilst on the move. It also had an A/V Out plug so could also be plugged into the television screen. Another unique feature was the abilty for 1 player to play on the TV whilst another person watched on the Nomad. There was also a socket on the bottom of the console to allow two Nomads to connect together for upto 4 players. There were some downsides to this console, in that it was bulky and the rechargable battery pack accessory option (which were not widely available) had less life in them than the ordinary batteries. The Nomad was never officially released in the UK.
