| Sega Mega CD Add on device for the Sega Mega Drive, allowing players to play games,audio CDs,and CD+G discs. Released in North America 1992 then Europe 1993. Not as popular as expected due to it's high retail price (£270 in UK) It sat underneath the Mega Drive contected by an extension interface card. It was then redesigned to sit side by side to the Mega Drive with a top loading tray. Then in 1994 it was rereleased as the CDX allowing cartridges and CDs to be played. | ![]() |
